Dear Diary,
Out here, the skylines present themselves differently.
Punctuated by the sounds of the call of a rooster, the moos
of cows, and the croak of bullfrogs - out here, the tallest structures to touch
the skies are trees.
Mother Nature sculpted this one.
And on a lazy Sunday afternoon, the kids and I hiked through
it.
We found a bouquet of wildflowers, a moth that sent Landen running for the sanctuary of the house, and a landscape so green I couldn’t help but smile.
Madelyn soon took the lead and guided me through our trails – up a stone hill, circling around a bend, beneath an arch of tree branches. She began to point out all the purple flowers growing freely on our property.
We moved in two weeks ago. I still pinch myself.
