Lately: Watching the Summer '16 Olympics in Rio

See also, why my productivity is at a standstill.

There is something so inspiring about watching the Olympics.

Not only has the entire world come together (that alone is a beautiful thing), but these athletes are at the top of their game. This is the pinnacle of their careers, standing among the best in the world.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching Michael Phelps swim, and was touched by the moment he kissed his infant son after winning gold in the 200m butterfly.

I was on the edge of my seat watching women’s gymnastics, and I believe Aly Raisman’s parents are the perfect representation of every parent with a kid in sports.
These athletes started out as a kid in their living room glued to their TV screen believing “that could be me one day.”
Underneath it all, these athletes are just a kid from somewhere. And I think that is what makes the Olympics so cool, because it could happen to anyone.
Once upon a time you were a kid with big dreams that you promised you’d make real one day. Don’t disappoint yourself.
